A GREEN RESPONSE

This response is what we see as a sustainable environmental solution for many of our ecological problems.

The deteriorating state of our environment can no longer be ignored. Everyone is called upon to respond in any way he can. No less than Pope Francis makes this appeal in his encyclical, Laudato Si where he urges everyone to “care deeply for our common home.”

We, in the La Salle community, see our responsibility to be good stewards of God’s creation. We feel it is incumbent upon us to respond to the problems of the environment in an impactful and sustainable way.

This –- the La Salle Botanical Gardens — constitutes our response.

A concerted biodiversity effort that includes scientific study, developmental research, and ex-situ conservation programs.

An educational approach that is enlightening, exciting, and full of discoveries about the world of plants, especially native species.

A public recreational facility to encourage the healthy practice of relaxing and enjoying in a natural environment.

All these are meant to nurture love and deep respect for nature.

This response is what we see as a sustainable environmental solution for many of our ecological problems.
